Melissa brings a very unique history of experience to Santé Clinic & Med Spa. Following her devotion to building balanced and healthy body images for women, she became a certified aesthetician through Francis Tuttle and then continued her medical aesthetics training at National Laser Institute, gaining a second certification in Laser Technology. She also holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Organizational Leadership.
Melissa has extensive experience in cosmetics and daily skincare as well, having worked as a Clarins Cosmetics Counter Manager and Origins Beauty Consultant. Additionally, she has worked in women’s fashion, addressing some of the most intimate and sensitive body-image issues as a certified bra fitter (dealing with breast augmentations and even supporting breast cancer survivors as they strive to reinvent themselves post treatment and surgery).
“A woman’s beauty is a complex thing that reaches far beyond her physical appearance; it stems from the deepest part of her soul. So when I work with a client, I prefer to treat her holistically so that her outward appearance becomes a reflection of her inner self. And sometimes that works in reverse. Sometimes, by addressing specific issues with her appearance, she is then free to embrace her own beauty more deeply to develop a new sense of empowerment. That’s when she is radiant with confidence. And that’s what I love about my work: seeing women truly embrace their self-worth!”
Lydia completed her training thru Central State Massage Academy in 2003 where she was ranked top in her class. Since attaining her certification she has worked in a wide range of professional settings. These opportunities have allowed her to learn a variety of techniques, hone her massage style, and connect with people from all walks of life. She has created a signature flow to her massages using long strokes and muscle kneading that allows for maximum relaxation. Lydia specializes in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage and likes to incorporate muscle stripping, trigger point therapy, and reflexology whenever possible. She has done work in the chiropractic field and excels in treating individuals with neck injuries and clients with limited range of motion in their cervical spine.
"I believe massage is a universal gift that everyone should be receiving...it is not age or gender specific. I feel strongly in the power of human touch and know I am privileged to do this type of work."
